I haven’t been to Uncle Jack’s in quite a while, but this is a place you don’t easily forget. First class wait staff, they really make you feel like someone special. Unlike other places I’ve been to, the servers were extremely knowledgeable. Atmosphere is second to none, a true old school steakhouse.

Enjoyed 2 well poured Single Malts, and some conversation. I looked over the well laid out menu, a little taken with some of the prices but all in all not that bad for a NYC steakhouse. I chose an Organic Mesclun Salad which consisted of; tomatoes, goat cheese, roasted pine nuts, dry cranberries and their own dressing. Which was delicious by the way.

More importantly, let’s talk about the steak. The 48 ounce prime porterhouse for two, Uncle Jacks signature dish. I took one bite of this perfectly prepared masterpiece and was immediately pissed off. Not because it wasn’t cooked right, but because I knew I was stuck sharing this steak. I could of devoured the entire 48 ounces myself. It is not an easy task to perfectly cook a porterhouse. The NY Strip side is not as lean as the filet side, making the filet take less time to cook. It is actually like cooking two totally different steaks at the same time. The chef at Uncle Jack’s nailed it. The incredibly prepared porterhouse was sliced table side. Filet side was so soft you didn’t even need  knife to cut it, practically melted in your mouth. The Strip side was a beautiful marriage of lean meat and fat, which left the flavor juicy and delightful. We enjoyed every mouth watering bite.

I would highly recommend a visit to Uncle Jack’s, just be sure to bring friends, your appetite, and your wallet.
