Brewing techniques, unique mineral deposits, and water qualities have all to do with the flavor of the beer. Belgian ales have a really distinct, yeasty, highly carbonated quality that is a taste all unto itself. Leffe Blonde Belgian Ale, you'll get a hint of orange and cinnamon. As we tried this 6.6 percent brew, I couldn't help but wonder how much sampling the monks did in those monasteries, if they had enough of these I'm SURE they were feeling NICEEEE. The Ale House is a well known chain restaurant in a handfull of states including; Florida, Georgia, Illinois, NY, and Pennsylvania. I first expirenced this sports bar hang out while living in Florida. It seemed to always be the place to go for great food, beer, and some laughs with a few friends. The Ale House originated in Jupiter Florida in 1998.
Now we wont blow smoke and tell you that this is a 5 star joint. Sometimes the atmosphere is what makes it exciting. I can't speak for all of the Ale Houses but this applies to a couple of the Florida chains. All around the food is delicious...

I'd never seen the Stone Cali-België IPA in a store in New jersey before, so when I did, I grabbed a bottle of it without knowing much about the beer. Basically the Stone Cali-België IPA is an American IPA fermented with Belgian yeast.

As you may already know STEAKNIGHT is not only for the steak. We always try to expirence new beers, wines, scotches, cigars, ect..
Looking around for a new beer to try on our weekly STEAKNIGHT, I came accross a colorfull six-pack with an intresting name Troegs Pale Ale, and of course it was in the rated section of the store. I picked up 6 of these Pale Ales to see what it is all about.

Guinness is a dark stout beer that a lot of beer drinkers are a little weary about trying. Some people just don't have the pallet for a stout beer, I agree it is an aquired taste. What I have found from drinking Dogfish Head, you'll always get something that is going to push the envelope or at least hit you with a curve ball. The Dogfish Head Immort Ale is considered an American Double, which is basically a high ABV beer catchall category, when a beer doesn't fit anywhere else.

With each tasting of a Southern Tier beer I have, there is one thing I have come to rely on with this brewing company, they will do something to push the envelop with their beer that works extremely well. When I saw the Southern Tier Iniquity Imperial Black Ale on the shelf for the first time I didn't hesitate to buy a couple bottles. I love to try different and unique styles of beer and that is exactly what Southern Tier has been producing.

I was looking through my beer cellar today, not sure what I was really looking for. Being a warm June day in Jersey I was kind of surprised when I picked out the Troegs Mad Elf Holiday ale; this is an 11% ABV beer brewed with cherries and honey. As I was reading the label, I thought that the cherries and honey in this beer plus the alcohol might make for a pretty good steak marinade.
